Questions
Plain answers.
For your first time in the gym, and for anyone deciding.
I've never lifted. Is this for me?
Yes. It was made for you. Answer "Not yet" to the first question, and the app explains each exercise and starts you light. Go to the gym but don't know what to do there? It's for you too: today's workout is ready on Home, with a how-to for each exercise.
How heavy should I start?
Light. The first two workouts find your weights. After each set, tell the app how hard it was, from Easy to All out, and it suggests the next weight. When every set reaches the reps your plan asks for, it offers more weight, with the reason. Nothing changes unless you tap it.
The guide has more: How heavy to start.
How do I know I'm doing an exercise right?
Every exercise has a how-to in plain words: how to set up, the steps, what to keep in mind, and a common mistake. Almost every one also has a video from YouTube, opened in the app. The words work with no signal; videos need one.
What if the machine I need is taken?
Tap Swap and choose another exercise for the same muscles, for today only. At the end, you decide whether to keep it in your plan. You can also skip an exercise today, or do a different workout.
I don't know what half the machines are called.
Take a photo in My gym, and AI names the machine, or reads the weights printed on it. Keep other people out of the picture if you can: the app blurs the faces it finds, on your phone, before a photo is kept. Gym words in plain English helps too.
My gym is small, or I train at home. Does it still work?
Yes. The ready-made plans are fitted to a full gym, a basic gym or home. In My gym, list what your gym has, and your plan uses only that.
I've lifted for years. Is it too basic?
Answer "Yes, regularly" and explanations stay short, or turn them off. There's depth too: records, the best estimated single lift, plate maths, effort words, timed holds and your own exercises.
Do I need the coach?
No. Logging, ready-made plans and progress are free, and none of them needs the coach. It's there when you'd like to ask about your training.
Is the coach a real person?
No. The coach is an AI, Google's Gemini. Nothing is sent to it until you agree. It answers from your own plan and workouts, suggests changes you decide on one by one, and never sets a weight. It is not medical advice.
Does it work with no signal?
Where it counts. Logging, plans, how-to text, progress and swaps all work with no signal. The coach, asking AI about a photo, videos and signing in need a connection.
Do I need an account?
No. You can start with no account. When you want a copy kept, sign in with Apple or Google; on a new phone, sign in again and your workouts come back. To delete the account, open You, then Delete account.
What is kept, and where?
Your workouts and plans are kept on your phone. If you sign in, a copy is kept on our servers. Nothing goes to the AI, from the coach or a photo, until you agree. Your training data is never used for ads. The Privacy Policy and the Health Data Policy say it in full.
What does it cost, and how do I cancel?
Logging, ready-made plans and progress are free. The coach plan is $2.99 a month or $24.99 a year, with a free trial first. Prices in US dollars; the App Store shows your local price. Cancel any time in your iPhone's Settings. See Pricing.
Is it only for iPhone?
Yes. Train Personal is for iPhone, and it's coming soon.
Pounds or kilograms?
Whichever your phone's region uses.
Is this medical advice?
No. The how-to, the guide and the coach are general information. If you have a health condition, are pregnant, or haven't exercised in a long time, check with a doctor first. If something hurts, stop. If you feel chest pain or pressure, trouble breathing, faintness or sudden numbness, stop and call your local emergency number.
