Consumer health data policy

This page is about the health data that Train Personal ("the app") handles. It stands beside our privacy policy, which has the detail. It is written with Washington's My Health My Data Act and similar state laws in mind.

Who we are: JGA Ventures LLC, of 30 N Gould St, Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States. Contact: support@trainpersonal.app.

What we count as health data

We read "health data" widely. In the app it is anything that says what your body did, or what you train:

The app does not ask for a diagnosis, medicines, body weight or precise location. It reads nothing from Apple Health except heart rate and active energy, live, during a watch workout.

Where it comes from

From you: what you log, type, photograph and ask in the app. On an Apple Watch, with your yes, your heart rate and energy burned during a workout, from Apple Health. Heart rate is shown on the watch; the app never writes it to your logbook, the phone's database or our server. We get health data from no other source.

Why we collect it

We do not use it for advertising. We do not sell it. We do not use it to train AI.

When we collect it, and your agreement

Until you agree to one of these, we receive none of your health data. (Your phone's own backup is separate: see below.)

You do this The app asks What then leaves the phone
Create an account ("Save this workout") The sheet says what we keep; you continue with Apple or with Google, or tap "Not now" A copy of your logbook and your equipment photos, to our server
Ask the coach, or build a plan with AI "Before you ask": what is sent and where; "Agree and continue" or "Not now" With each question: the question and up to 3 earlier ones, your plan, your notes, your last 10 workouts, your best sets, your gym, whether you have lifted before
Let AI read a photo ("Ask AI") "Before AI reads a photo": what is sent and where; "Agree and continue" or "Not now" One or two photos of one piece of equipment, with the faces the phone found covered, and its note

You can also export a copy of your logbook yourself. That file goes only where you send it.

Who receives it

We share health data only with the companies that run the service for us:

Who What Why
Google Cloud, United States The server's copy of your logbook and your equipment photos To store them for your account
Google Gemini on Vertex AI, United States What is sent with a coach question, a plan build or a photo read To write the reply, build the plan or read the photo. Google does not train its AI on it. It may hold a request for up to 24 hours and check it for misuse
Google Firebase Your user id. No health data To know which account is calling
Apple That you signed in to this app. No health data Sign in with Apple
Google That you signed in to this app. No health data Sign in with Google

If you tap "Watch a video", YouTube learns which exercise was looked up. The app sends it no text of yours. Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

A workout done on the watch is saved to Apple Health, if you allowed it: its type, start, end and energy, no exercise or weight. Health may keep the heart rate measured during it with the workout, as it does for other workouts. A workout you discard on the phone is discarded in Health too. Apple Health keeps it under your own settings. Heart rate never reaches our server.

If iCloud Backup is on, Apple holds a backup of the app's files, under your own settings.

No other company or affiliate receives health data.

How to withdraw your agreement

How to see and delete your health data

Deleted data may stay in a server backup for about a week (7 daily backups).

Changes

We will change this page when the app changes what it does with health data, and put the new date at the top. This policy is published at https://trainpersonal.app/health-data.
